Invasive Species Activity

Pick an invasive species to investigate. You MAY NOT investigate the same organism as another person in the class. Check with the instructor BEFORE you begin your research.

Part 1:

Prepare a report giving the following information regarding your choice:

• Life history of the organism
• What makes it an exotic species?
• If it was introduced, why was the introduction made.
• If it was accidentally introduced, how did it happen?
• How is the local ecosystem affected?
• What efforts have been made to control the species?
• Is there a solution?

Part 2:

Design an investigation to learn new information about your choice. Submit your investigation in IB format. You must include Planning A and Planning B. You will NOT have to perform the experiment, but the Planning A and B will be graded as part of your IB Internal Assessment..
