The Laboratory Notebook
Your laboratory notebook, which will NEVER leave the classroom, will be used to store all written and computer generated materials related to your laboratory experiences. This notebook is significant because:
- Each lab is worth 25 points in your 9 weeks average.
- You will receive a laboratory notebook grade each nine weeks (100 pts).
- Some of your work will be forwarded to the IB organization for moderation.
- Colleges that award advanced placement credit may require a copy of the high school laboratory notebook for credit.
- The AP curriculum includes 12 required laboratory experiences. Questions on the exam frequently test your understanding of this material.
- The IB-HL program requires 60 hours of laboratory work.
- Documentation is required for evaluation in the following areas: planning, data collection, data analysis, evaluation, manipulative and personal skills.
- The scores earned on this work will count 24% of the final IB evaluation score (0 – 7).
Organization of the notebook: (That stays in the classroom)
