Good science fiction stories are always based on good scientific facts. Of course you cannot be shrunken to 20 nanometers, but IF YOU COULD, the rest of the story should be scientifically accurate.
At this time (if you saved Princess Adenine) you should understand some of the functions of the following organelles :
the nucleus, the endoplasmic reticulum
(ER), the mitochondrion, the chloroplast, the Golgi Body, lysosomes, vacuoles, cilia or flagella, the cell membrane, and the cell wall.
Organic molecules with which you should now be familiar are : restriction enzymes, DNA, RNA, ATP, and digestive enzymes.
Adenine is one of the four nucleotides found in every DNA molecule. This molecule can attach to either DNA's thymine or to RNA's uracil. Actually there is nothing evil about uracil. It is an RNA nucleotide that is crucial in the production of a cell's proteins. In fact, DNA could not govern the cell without the all-important RNA molecules. We will learn much more about the relationships between DNA and RNA as this course progresses.
